MATEO COHEN
Honey for sure!
6 Questions to Mateo Cohen
Columbian artist, living and working in Berlin.
What did you have for breakfast today?
Changua. A vegetable broth with milk, chive, coriander and white bread.
What is fertiliser for your work?
I think time pressure. When something must be done, I’m very focused on what I’m doing. That is how my work has taken new directions.
Which place is missing you?
Maybe my hometown, Bogotá. I mean my friends and family who still live there, because the city itself has no interest in “creating” any kind of ties with its inhabitants.
Have a beer with an artist of your choice? Whom?
Blinky Palermo. I find his work inspiring. But also because it won’t have been just a beer! He was a famous alcoholic, which is very difficult to see in his work.
What are you doing on sundays at 3pm?
Doing casual work or drinking coffee with my mother-in-law.
Mustard or honey?
Honey for sure!
